چکیده

Kernel size-related traits, including kernel length, width, and thickness, are critical components in determining yield quality maize (Zea mays L.). Dissecting the phenotypic characteristics of these discovering candidate chromosomal regions for potential importance improvement. In this study, a total 139 F2:3 family lines derived from EHel B73, distinct line with extremely low ear height (EHel), was used phenotyping QTL mapping three 10-kernel length (KL), width (KWid), thickness (KT). The results showed that only one KWid, i.e., qKWid9 on Chr9, variation explained (PVE) 13.4% detected between SNPs AX-86298371 AX-86298372, while no QTLs were KL KT across all 10 chromosomes. Four bulked groups lines, Groups I to IV, constructed according comparisons KWid B73. Among four groups, Group possessed significantly lower than (P = 0.0455), II similar 0.34), both III IV statistically higher

QTL Analysis of Kernel-Related Traits in Maize Using an Immortalized F2 Population

Kernel size and weight are important determinants of grain yield in maize. In this study, multivariate conditional and unconditional quantitative trait loci (QTL), and digenic epistatic analyses were utilized in order to elucidate the genetic basis for these kernel-related traits. Five kernel-related traits, including kernel weight (KW), volume (KV), length (KL), thickness (KT), and width (KWI)...

Analysis of candidate genes of QTL and chromosomal regions for essential hypertension in the rat model

This is an in silico analysis of quantitative trait loci (QTLs), genes, polymorphisms, and chromosomal regions regulating hypertension in the rat genome. Utilizing PGmapper, a program that matches phenoltypes to genes, we identified 266 essential hypertension-associated genes (HyperA), and 83 of these genes contain known hypertension-associated polymorphisms (HyperAP). The majority of HyperAP h...

QTL Mapping and Candidate Gene Analysis of Telomere Length Control Factors in Maize (Zea mays L.)

Telomere length is a quantitative trait important for many cellular functions. Failure to regulate telomere length contributes to genomic instability, cellular senescence, cancer, and apoptosis in humans, but the functional significance of telomere regulation in plants is much less well understood. To gain a better understanding of telomere biology in plants, we used quantitative trait locus (Q...

Dynamic QTL Analysis and Candidate Gene Mapping for Waterlogging Tolerance at Maize Seedling Stage

Soil waterlogging is one of the major abiotic stresses adversely affecting maize growth and yield. To identify dynamic expression of genes or quantitative trait loci (QTL), QTL associated with plant height, root length, root dry weight, shoot dry weight and total dry weight were identified via conditional analysis in a mixed linear model and inclusive composite interval mapping method at three ...
